South America: found on the Andean slope of Argentina (south-western Salta to Río Negro)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
It lives in arid scrub, as the name suggests in sandy areas.
Behaviour
It spends a lot of the time on the floor with its tail cocked. When calling it will however perch in low scrub.
