Distribution

Australia, New Guinea, and islands in Bismarck Archipelago and Solomon Islands.

Taxonomy

Four subspecies are recognized:

  • heinei,
  • choiseuli
  • eichhorni
  • papuensis

The last subspecies is sometimes placed in Olive-tailed Thrush

Habitat

Forests.

Behaviour

Mostly sedentary. Breeds September to December
