- Redder towards nape
- Dark red mantle
Distribution
From southeastern Peru and northern Bolivia to south central Amazonian Brazil.
Taxonomy
Formerly considered conspecific with Rufous-backed Stipplethroat (and the no longer recognized Fulvous-throated Antwren) under the name Stipple-throated Antwren.
Subspecies
Two subspecies recognized:
- E. a. amazonica
- E. a. dentei
- south central Amazonian Brazil, between the Madeira/Ji-Paraná rivers and the Aripuanã River - originally described as full species, Roosevelt Antwren.
Habitat
Mostly observed in terra firme forests.
Behaviour
There is no information on breeding or movements, though they are thought to be a resident species.
Diet
The diet consists mostly of insects and spiders.
