Location: Bigodi Swamp, Uganda. A female (males with red forehead).

Identification

Length 17-18 cm.

The only malimbe with black underparts and red crown, nape and mantle.

Distribution

Africa: Guinea to Kenya.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Lowland forest and secondary growth.
