Pytilia lineata

Identification

Length 12 cm.

Similar to Red-winged Pytilia, but adults have a red bill, darker eyes. Also darker grey with darker barring on belly.

Distribution

Ethiopia.

Taxonomy

Monotypic. Some authorities consider P. lineata a subspecies of Red-winged Pytilia P. phoenicoptera.

Habitat

Semi-arid savanna and thicket.
