Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela

Taxonomy

Polytypic. Consists of four subspecies.
The scientific name has been spelled megacephala in the past.

Habitat

Forest and montane.
