9 cm (3½ in) short, stubby bill
Male

  • Dark blue head, throat and upperparts
  • Yellow underparts

Distribution

South America: found from south Venezuela to Guyana, Suriname and northern Amazonian Brazil

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

They can be found in savanna with scattered trees and the borders of savanna forest; scrubby open woodland.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of small fruits and berries.
