Similar Species
Tawny Grassbird is smaller, has a shorter tail, has more rufous in cap area and paler underparts.
Distribution
Found on New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago.
Taxonomy
Formerly treated as conspecific with Tawny Grassbird.
Subspecies
Seven subspecies are recognized[1]:
- C.t. mayri
- C.t. interscapularis
- C.t. stresemanni
- C.t. harterti
- C.t. wahgiensis
- C.t. alpinus
- C.t. macrurus
