Ptilinopus aurantiifrons

Identification

Distribution

Endemic to New Guinea where it is found throughout the lowlands of the mainland except for north east Papua New Guinea from the mouth of the Sepik River to Morobe. Also on the surrounding islands of Aru, (Misool?), Batanta, Salawati, Yapen, Fergusson, Normanby, Killerton, Sariba and Daru.
In suitable habitat it is generally rather common and may be locally abundant.
