Distribution
Northern El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1].
- T. m. clarus - highlands of northwestern Mexico (southern Chihuahua, eastern Sinaloa, and Durango)
- T. m. mexicanus - highlands of western, eastern, and southern Mexico south to Honduras and northern El Salvador
Habitat
Moist montane forests and pine-evergreen and pine-oak woodland.
