Africa:
Western Africa: Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola
Eastern Africa: Uganda, Rwanda Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi
Southern Africa: Botswana, Zimbabwe

Taxonomy

Subspecies^[1]

• M. a. angolensis:

• Angola to southern Zaire, Rwanda, Zambia and Tanzania

• M. a. hylophila:

• Southern Zambia to Zimbabwe, western Malawi and western Mozambique

Habitat

Miombo woodland and associated cultivation (Britton 1980)

Savanna and eucalyptus plantations (record from NW Rwanda in eucalyptus plantation possibly, and likely, very unusual habitat record for this species.)
