Identification
10 cm. The upperparts are dull olive-green, the underparts paler. Yellow belly and vent. White eyering. Males and females are similar.
Distribution
Mauritius Island. Critically endangered.
Taxonomy
Monotypic.
Formerly regarded conspecific with Reunion Olive White-eye as Olive White-eye, Zosterops olivaceus.
Habitat
Evergreen bushes and forests.
Behaviour
2 pale eggs are laid in a cup-shaped nest which is well hidden in the foliage. Both parents incubate. Normally only one juvenile is reared, fledging in about 14 days.
Diet includes nectar and insects.
