Identification

Large, chunky dove with big white corners to the tail. Pinkish and rufous color unlike any other dove in its range.

Distribution

Madagascar and the Seychelles.

Taxonomy

This is a polytypic species[1] consisting of 5 subspecies.

Habitat

Behaviour

Usually shy, most often seen flying away along a road or a forest path.
