Distribution

Madagascar

Taxonomy

Two subspecies recognized:

  • C. m. madagascariensis in the lowland forests of Madagascar
  • C. m. dilutus in southwest Madagascar (Sakaraha region)

This species has been placed in various genera, including Ispidina and Ceyx.

Behaviour

Diet includes frogs and insects.
