Identification
Orange cere, white eye and the fine black barring on its breast.
Similar Species
It is distinguished from Barred Forest Falcon by its orange rather than yellow cere, its whitish rather than yellow to brown eye and the fine black barring on its breast not extending to its belly or flanks.
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, Bolivia and Brazil.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Treated as a race of Barred Forest Falcon, M. ruficollis by some authors.
Habitat
Rainforest.
