Large pond near Bunces Pass (Fort De Soto area) on highway leading to Ft. D

United States, Florida

Overview

(Fort De Soto area) on highway leading to Ft. D(Tierre Verde, Florida)

Birds

Notable Species

4/8/06...observed several Redhead ducks...& a pair of Blue-winged Teals.

This pond hosts hundreds of ducks at a time during height of the season. On my first visit I spotted Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, Ruddy Duck, a Northern Shoveler, Blue-winged Teal and several others.

  • Also a smaller pond just 100 yds. North (shot of Lesser Scaup)
