Overview
Purchased by the RSPB in 1995, Lakenheath Fen is an extensive wetland reserve mainly comprising reedbeds and grazing marshes, created by the conversion of arable farmland. The habitat was developed with Great Bitterns in mind in particular but the reserve provides a haven for a wide range of species. There is also a remnant of Poplar woods on the reserve.
