Small, olive green, black lores and short, curved bills.

Distribution

Kaua'i, in the Hawaiian Islands

Taxonomy

Monotypic.
Formerly placed in the genus Hemignathus.

Habitat

Forest.

Behaviour

Diet includes insects, caterpillars, nectar, berries, and fruit. It has a fully tubular tongue and a curved bill that are adapted for taking nectar.
