South-east Asia: found in the Lesser Sundas (Timor and Wetar), Indonesia and East Timor.

Two subspecies are recognized[1]:
- A. j. wetterensis:
- Wetar (eastern Lesser Sundas)
- A. j. jonquillaceus:
- Eastern Lesser Sundas (Timor and Rote)
Habitat
Monsoon forest and acacia savanna.
