Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- S. g. guttulata:
- Mountains of northern Venezuela (Yaracuy to Distrito Federal)
- S. g. pallida:
- Mountains of north-eeastern Venezuela (Anzoátegui, Sucre and northern Monagas)
Habitat
Evergreen forests, montane and secondary, at heights around 900–2100 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of arthropods, generally foraged in the understorey. The are usually found singly or in pairs and may sometimes follow army ants.
