Southeast Asia: found in Indonesia, Moluccas, Papua New Guinea
Australia: Northern Territory, Western Australia, Melanesia

There are 4 subspecies[1]:
- G. c. cinereiceps:
- G. c. aruensis:
- Aru, Waigeo, Salawati and Batanta islands
- G. c. chloronota:
- Northern Territory (Arnhem Land, Melville I., Groote Eylandt)
- G. c. darwini:
- North-western Western Australia (Kimberley Division)
Habitat
Riparian forests, mangroves and thickets.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet includes a variety of insects, spiders, beetles, wasps etc.
