Distribution
Endemic to south-east Asia: found in Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sulawesi
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 3 subspecies[1]:
- H. c. simplex:
- Tentolo-Matinan Mountains (north-eastern peninsula of Sulawesi)
- H. c. calligyna:
- Mount Latimojong (southern-central Sulawesi)
- H. c. picta:
- Mekonga Mountains (south-eastern Sulawesi)
Habitat
Thick undergrowth in montane forests.
Behaviour
They forage in the leaf litter.
