Distribution
South America: found in eastern Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and north-eastern Amazonian Brazil.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Placed in genus Epinecrophylla by Clements (2010)[1] and Gill and Donsker (2010)[3], and in genus Myrmotherula by Dickinson (2003)[2].
Habitat
Moist lowland forest.
Behaviour
Breeding
It builds a domed nest from leaves and twigs, placed in a thick bush. The 2 eggs are incubated by both parents for 11 days. Both parents care for the young.
Diet
The diet consists almost entirely of insects, including beetles. There is little additional information available.
