South-east Asia: found in New Guinea and Indonesia.

Subspecies

There are 5 subspecies[1]:

  • P. c. trigeminus:
  • Salawati Island and west coast of Vogelkop Peninsula (north-western New Guinea)
  • P. c. geminus:
  • Northern New Guinea (head of Geelvink Bay to Takar) and Yapen Island
  • P. c. quadrigeminus:
  • Northern New Guinea (Humboldt to Astrolabe Bay) and Manam Island
  • P. c. huonensis:
  • Northern coastal New Guinea (Huon Bay to Goodenough Bay)
  • P. c. coronulatus:
  • Aru Island and southern coastal New Guinea (Mimika River to Milne Bay)
