Genus: Philodice
Description
Two species of Woodstars.
Taxonomy
Philodice is a genus in the family Trochilidae; both species were formerly placed in genus Calliphlox. Phylogenetic studies demonstrated that not all three species in Calliphlox could be accommodated in the same genus[2], in spite of an earlier SACC proposal arguing against reinstating Philodice[3].
