Genus: Oxyruncus
Description
Taxonomy
Oxyruncus was a monotypic genus in the family Cotingidae in agreement with a treatment that has been traditional for a while1. However, SACC2 in the online discussion mentions reasons to reassign the Sharpbill back to its own family Oxyruncidae but also states that this state of affairs may be due to lack of data. As we follow Clements in terms of families we follow the SACC and the newest edition of Clements and place this species in its own family.
