This genus contains only one species, Crossley's Vanga from Madagascar. It's distinguished from Babblers by its long, straight and narrow bill with a slight hook at the tip, its long legs, its absence of rictal bristels and the short wings and tail.

Taxonomy

Mystacornis is a genus in the Family Vangidae.
This bird has formerly been placed in the family Timaliidae (Babblers). However recent studies have confirmed the proposed placement in the Vangidae.
