Genus: Melanocichla
Description
A genus which is not (yet) accepted by most authorities. If accepted it would contain one or two species:
- Black Laughingthrush
- Bare-headed Laughingthrush
They share a large, deep, short bill, bare skin behind the eyes, an all-dark plumage and a distinctive whooping voice.
Taxonomy
Melanocichla is a genus in the Family Leiothrichidae.
This genus is commonly merged in the genus Garrulax.
