Genus: Malacocincla
Description
This genus contains three species of Babblers from SE Asia of which one is extinct.
They have in common:
- Long bill with upcurved lower mandible and hook-tipped upper mandible
- Conspicuous rictal bristles
- Strong legs and large feet
- Tail considerably shorter than wing
Taxonomy
Malacocincla is a genus in the Family Pellorneidae.
It was formerly included in the family Timaliidae.
