Houbaropsis is a monotypic genus in the family Otididae.

Eupodotis vs. Houbaropsis

Some authorities (Sibley & Monroe, 1996) lump the genus Houbaropsis within Eupodotis. however there now seems to be a consensus for using Houbaropsis.
