Genus: Cissa
Description
Group of Asian Magpies. They share a velvet black mask, green plumage, chestnut-red wings and red bills and legs.
The plumage of all species can fade ot to blue, white and brown. This happens frequently to captive birds but also in the wild.
Taxonomy
Cissa is a genus in the family Corvidae.
It's closely related to the genus Urocissa. The species limit in this genus have been discussed a long time. Delacour proposed six species, Vaurie only two. The actual consensus is to accept four species like here.
