Identification

Distribution

Southeast Asia: found in Indochina, Malaysia, Borneo, Brunei, Indonesia, Greater Sundas and Sumatra

Taxonomy

Subspecies[1]

There are 3 subspecies:

  • D. e. everetti :
  • Southern Peninsular Malaysia, Riau Archipelago, northern Borneo and Labuan Island
  • D. e. bungurense:
  • North Natuna Islands

An additional subspecies, sordidum, is not recognised by all authorities[2].

Forest.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes nectar, berries, spiders and insects.

Breeding

It builds a purse shaped nest which is suspended from a tree. The clutch consists of 2-4 eggs.
