Identification

29–30 cm (11½-11¾ in)

  • Chestnut-red overall plumage
  • Paler underparts
  • Wings

Distribution

Indonesia and Papua New Guinea Bismarck Archaepelago and D'Entrecasteaux Archaepelago.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and montanes to 2,600 m.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of tree fruit and seeds. There is little more information available.
