Identification

23-30cm

  • Upperparts dark brown or rufous
  • Brown scapulars and wing coverts spotted white
  • Underparts white with dark brown or rufous barring

Distribution

Australasia: Papua New Guinea, Melanesia

Taxonomy

Habitat

Lowland forests and forest edges, wooded hills, low mountains, up to 1000 metres.
