Ballmann's Malimbe - BirdForum Opus

Identification

The only malimbe that is black and yellow.

Distribution

Humid forests of Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and south-western Ivory Coast

Taxonomy

Monotypic[1]

This taxon is considered a subspecies of Rachel's Malimbe (sensu lato) by some authors[2]

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.

Status

Classified as Endangered in the 2008 IUCN Red List.3

Behaviour

Found in pairs or small groups, often in mixed-species flocks.
