Cutest, ugliest bird in the world! (1 Viewer)

The cutest for me is a Frogmouth. They are sooo cute!
The ugliest is definitely a Shoebill. They are the ugliest birds you can find except maybe a Slender-billed Vulture.
What are yours?

Since you haven't excluded young birds from this, I would like to nominate the ducklings of Common Eiders as the cutest. We have had quite a few here in Peel this summer, great birds to watch.

By the way, I see what you mean about frogmouths.

The cutest for me is definitely the Frogmouth, and the meanest looking one Shoebill. I'm okay with the Vultures though.

Just to check - are these your photos, and if not, have you got permission from the photographer to post them here? (If not, not sure if you're allowed to?, otherwise linking to them on the net should be ok).

Sorry to be a pain!

Excluding baby birds (the frogmouth above may be a baby? -or does it just look that way front on?) cutest maybe Little Penguin, ugliest Hoatzin perhaps?

Of ones I've seen, worn 2nd-summer Herring Gull starting moult to 3rd winter for the ugliest; of those I've not seen, ditto to Neil78 on Marabou Stork.

Cutest - newly-hatched Charadrius chicks. Do a google search for Glen Tepke's Piping Plover chick photos.

Dto to both. Here it's 2nd-summer California Gulls rather than Herring Gulls, and Killdeer chicks rather than Piping Plovers. Ugly as sin, cute as the dickens (respectively)!
