Going by the description in the Radio Times, it sounds a bit too cutesy and this is almost off-putting "And chatty wee Savannah is a little star". I just hope we see as little as possible of wife and child and more of the wildlife.

The clue is in the programmes title. As much as the wildlife will take centre stage it is a 'sort of' sneak peak into our lives up here in the far north. As 'cutesy' as it may be it should be good viewing.

I've know doubt the 'responsible parenting brigade or health and safety freaks' must have been raising their eyebrows and wagging their accusing fingers at Si and his good wife for allowing their daughter to run around a cliff top and to be driven through a raging torrent.
That said I enjoyed the programme. Fantastic coastal scenery and great wildlife shots as expected from Mr King. Look forward to next weeks installment.

i switched it off after 10 minutes. It appeared to be more about Simon and the family than the wildlife. Perhaps i should have stuck at it a bit longer

Following the amount of rarities during the fall on Cornwall and Scilly in October i think this will be the case with twitchers as well.

Interesting bit for me (apart from the wildlife) was when he spoke about having three children from a previous marriage and how now he has the opportunity to include his child in his activities. Allmost sensed a tinge of regret ?
