White Breasted Nuthatch
I have a pair that have claimed my yard as their territory. As I stand hand feeding chickadees,(and RED breasted nuthatches) one or both of this pair will watch from close by, and come oh so close to doing the same. But being naturally more skittish and cautious than the chickadees, they just won't take that final step. I don't mind, I appreciate that they will come well within arm's reach with no hesitation.
