Tsunami!!! Every bird for itself!!! (Pluvialis apricaria)

I must admit I was quite worried about the show I was seeing through the camera while lying by the scene!!! o:D These are the risks of trying to compose birds with nature! :-O

Hope this crop works after trying many different ones, I concluded the more I show of the wave, the better

Beach
Location
Zelun, near Avils, Asturias, N Spain
Date taken
26 October 2008
Scientific name
Pluvialis apricaria

What a beautiful image Marian! By the angle of the shot, it looks like you had to get down and dirty for this un. Its just superb with that fragile little Plover retreating from the waves, over the bed of cockle shells. I hope you didn't get wet getting this great shot!!!!!!!

Hey madamcoolpix g/f, this is a stunning image, love that setting of the shells and the wave, very dramatic indeed, a super detailed bird too :D........well done g/f, a magnificent capture!!! o:)o:):t:

Pm you in a bit ;)

WOW superb image Marian, brilliant detail and that water splashing in the BG.
thanks

Thanks for putting yourself in mortal danger for this wonderful shot Marian. Those shells don't look the most comfortable things to be crawling on. A lovely little wader and a great image. Very nice indeed Marian.

Wow Madamo:)o:)
Stunning shot g/f:t: The sharp shells at the front and the out of focus wave gives this the dramatic quality that something significant is about to happen (not you getting soaked I trust;))
The detail on the bird is fantastic, well done you:t::t::t:eek::)
