Scaly-breasted Hummingbird (Phaeochroa cuvierii roberti) nectaring torch ginger.
Habitat
Río San Carlos, Caribbean lowlands, humid rainforest with large areas cleared for agriculture at 39 m (128 ft) elevation. Lodge’s garden.
Location
Laguna del Lagarto Lodge, northeast of Boca Tapada, Alajuela Province, Costa Rica near the Nicaraguan border.

splendid photo of the little hummingbird nectaring the wonderful, big flower, Stanley, a real beauty, many tfs!!

That's a beautiful picture. The flower looks like it's candied--no wonder the hummingbird is drawn to it. The golden and green hues of the plumage are also nice.
