Riparian Autumn 2018

This is the week I take a comparison picture at the same spot along the river. I've been doing this for several years now, just to see if there's much difference in this season from year to year.

I was particularly interested to check it this year, after the long hot summer, to see what effect it had. You can judge this for yourself from the previous pictures:

What a nice idea! The ones I've looked at look similarish, but I love the concept. Very evocative, you can almost hear the rustle of leaves underfoot.
 
Definitely a lot less foliage than in earlier years. :( We were noticing already in late July that leaves were turning colour in the UK, probably on account of the dry weather.
