Red Fox - Vixen (Vulpes vulpes)

This female (yes, I can tell the difference|=)|) Red Fox was more nervous than the other Foxes usually are at the Reservoirs. They're used to people, but they've learned to give them a wide berth (except in very harsh Winters). So I couldn't get close to her for a pic; I kept creeping forward, and she kept backing off and hiding in the undergrowth.

I decided the only way to get a pic was to anticipate where she might go, and then wait for her to come to me. So I hid in a bush, literally. I walked into the bush and hid (don't you just love prickly bushes|=)|) Unfortunately I moved at the wrong time, and the cracking noise of the twigs I trod on alerted her to my presence. Still, at least I got a pic of her looking at me.

I've a feeling that this might be a female helper, as I think females that have bred will be in dens with Cubs (or Kits, or Pups; whichever word you favour) by now. Oh and she walked within a couple of feet of 3 Canada Geese, 2 Pigeons, and a Crow; none of which seemed worried enough to fly off.

Parts of the bush got in the way, hence the blurred stuff. I also blew the whites on the face.
