    Hello - Not posted here for a while. Another new bird to add to the garden list. A Fieldfare keeps returning to the garden to feed from a rose bush just a few metres away from the kitchen.

    The seed feeders this weekend have been completely dominated by Goldfinches.Never seen so many. They swoop down in large numbers feeding from the feeders and on the ground.Have just counted 38 sitting in a tree nearby.

    Presumably it's not just me that's having huge flocks (charms) of Goldfinches visit their garden. Yesterday,we had at least 25 feeding from the seed feeders and on the ground below the feeders, was quite a sight.

    I have a new bird to add to my garden list. A female Black Cap, called a "Rust Cap" so the book say's As I already have a black cap listed,can the Rust Cap be added to my list albeit it's of the same species. Not sure what the position is when it comes to bird lists.

    Pretty busy today,Bramblings have appeared everyday since they first arrived a few days ago now. Goldfinches, Chaffinch still in high numbers along with Siskins.Plenty of sparrows,and then 2 Long Tailed Tits arrived but only stayed a few minutes.Later in the afternoon a Wren arrived as pictured.

    New Bird Alert This morning we had a Red Legged Partridge walking around the garden. Hope to spend some quality garden bird watching tomorrow,having cleaned out and refilled all bird feeders again today.

    Sunday was very busy at the feeders,following Saturday's huge snowfall. Cleared off all the snow and defrosted them all using hot water and a sponge. Refilled the lot with another 2KG + of seeds.     Gosh looks to be getting worse. The temperature has now dropped to -12.1 degrees. I have a sensor outside on the shed which transmits data to a Oregon Scientific weather station in the house. Just hope the birds can cope in such cold conditions.

    Big snow here in Kent and pleased to see a new bird to the garden a "Pied Wagtail" and then a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers landed on a tree further down the garden feeding on the peanut feeders.:-) Much going on even though the weather is bad.
