Distribution

Amazonian Brazil (middle Rio Tapajós and possibly lower Rio Madeira)

Taxonomy

Monotypic[1]

This taxon is considered a subspecies of Vulturine Parrot (sensu lato) by some authors[2]

This species is sometimes placed in genus Pionopsitta.

Habitat

Gallery forest and white-sand forest

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes fruit.
