Telescope useful for Cuba? (2 Viewers)

I'm going to Cuba tomorrow for ten days, probably driving down to Playa Larga for Cienaga de Zapata and then over to Trinidad for the hills Is it worth taking a telescope for the birding? My feeling is that I'll be in swamps and forest a lot, so probably not.

Also, any specific birding recommendations would be welcome. But I don't intend to only go birding, hence the visit to Trinidad for a bit of culture, and maybe a visit out to one of the cays off there for some snorkelling.

Hm, if you have the weight allowance, I would take a scope. I have not been to Cuba, mind you -- a little earlier probably would work better for such questions
