Location: Kenya.
Euplectes nigroventris

Identification

A distinctive Red Bishop which shows far more black than the other species. In particular most individuals show no red from throat to belly (some inland Kenyan birds do have scattered red feathers on the throat).

Distribution

southeastern Kenya to eastern Tanzania, Zanzibar, Pemba, and northern Mozambique.
