Identification

9.5-10 cm. Green upperparts and off-white underparts, prominent double wing bars and long supercilia.

Distribution

Breeds in Asia east from the Urals to China.

Taxonomy

There were formerly considered to be three subspecies, but humei and mandellii are now split as a separate species.

Habitat

Lowland and mountain woodlands.

Behaviour

The diet includes insects.

They nest in a tree.
