Senegal in the west to Kenya and Ethiopia in the east.
Taxonomy
Sometimes placed in genus Melaniparus.
Habitat
Coniferous woodland.
Behaviour
It nests in a tree crevice; 4-6 reddish-brown blotched pinkish-white eggs are laid.
