Rheinardia ocellata

Identification

Male - 190-239 cm

  • Blackish-brown
  • White speckled markings
  • Erect white crest on the rear crown
  • Blue skin around eyes
  • Brown iris
  • Pink bill
  • Very large tail

Female - 74-75 cm

  • Brown, black and buff bars and spots
  • Paler underparts
  • Shorter crest and tail

Distribution

South-east Asia: found in Annam, Laos and Malaya.

Humid forests.
