Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized which are sometimes split into two species:[1]
- G. s. sclaterii
- Southern New Guinea (Mimika River to Fly River)
- G. s. scheepmakeri
- Coastal southeast New Guinea (Hall Sound to Orangerie Bay)
